ThirtyEight Free Life Workbook Honest Review

The Free Life Workbook is your answer to taking control of finances. It was created by Scarlett, a rental investing leader for millennials, who paid off $70,000 in student loans and is on her way to retiring by 38. She established ThirtyEight Investing as a hub for young female investors to grow wealth and rental properties.

Her Free Life Workbook will help you pull all of your finances together. But it’s more than that. It will educate you on critical investing terms, help you put a budget together, and help you develop a money mindset.

Who is this workbook for?

In a simple word – most everyone. The Free Life Workbook is for anyone:

  1. Struggling to make a budget.
  2. Overcoming out-of-control spending.
  3. Drowning in debt.
  4. Frustrated with investing
  5. Good with money but needs to solidify their money plan and mindset.

This workbook isn’t for you if you already have all of your finances under control with another system or you aren’t willing to put in the time to work through it.

My impression

Ok, so the title threw me a little. I was expecting the workbook to be free.

But the truth is…the workbook is freeing…it’s going to FREE your life from anxiety, worry, and confusion over money. This is your ultimate guide to financial freedom.

The workbook is well laid out. More than 200 pages over 15 chapters are focused on helping you understand personal finance and evaluate your financial situation. There are money tips, worksheets, homework, challenges, quizzes, trackers, printables, and a vision board template.

I loved the Grandma money savings challenge. You are going to think about saving money in areas you didn’t know before.

And you need to check out the section on how to pay off debt. Did you know that you’re more likely to reach your goals if you have a plan to do it?

At first glance, it may seem a little overwhelming. But I promise that you will get through the workbook and feel better if you just start with page 1 and read through the pages.

You may be thinking I already have a budget, or I already know how to invest. But let me tell you – having a system and putting it all together is different than having this or that.

You will appreciate the Roth IRA tracker holding you accountable and keeping you motivated to max out your contributions year after year.

Everyone can benefit from the written exercises that get you thinking about your finances. But this workbook takes it a step further by teaching you a little about real estate investing. One of the most important things to do on the journey to financial freedom is to diversify your income and investments. Scarlett is guaranteed to get you started in the right direction.

My overall review

Pros: easy to navigate, comprehensive, addresses your mindset and your financials

Cons: self-directed plan, aimed at beginner beginners

Conclusion

Personal finance is personal. Everyone is going to have different learning styles and needs. But the Free Life Workbook is a comprehensive workbook covering everything from budgeting to investing with a little on goals and your mindset. I already knew quite a bit about investing, but the workbook helped clarify my goals and budget.

I absolutely loved the workbook. And it’s worth it just for the extra worksheets to keep your finances organized.

The Free Life Workbook brought clarity to my finances and helped me get my money mindset together. This workbook is going to help you draw a clearer picture of your financial situation. And you’re sure to make better financial decisions as you work through it with open eyes. Comment below to let me know your thoughts on the Free Life Workbook.
